Project Overview
In 2021, ACS managed the transport of a large industrial turning machine from Bremerhaven, Germany to its final destination in Mississippi via the port of Charleston.

Shipment Details
• 49 crates of varying sizes
• Total weight: 247 tons
• Total volume: 800+ CBM
• Transport method: RORO vessel using 11 mafi trailers

Logistics & Delivery
ACS coordinated vessel arrival in Charleston and managed final delivery to the destination site. The project required 16 trucks, with several shipments requiring police escort due to oversized cargo.

Execution
Despite forecasted rain during loading, conditions remained favorable and the shipment was completed on schedule.

Project Overview
Since 2017, ACS has supported the DESI (Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument) project, working in close coordination with project stakeholders to manage the transport of highly sensitive scientific equipment across multiple global locations.

Shipment Details
Equipment: Precision optical lens, barrel components, fiber optic systems
Cargo type: High-value, sensitive scientific instrumentation
Scope: Multi-phase international transport between manufacturers and research teams

Logistics & Delivery
ACS coordinated shipments between global manufacturing partners and collaborating institutions, ensuring careful handling throughout each stage. The assembled lens was transported via exclusive aircraft charter from the United Kingdom to the United States.

Execution
ACS provided on-site coordination upon arrival to oversee customs clearance and final delivery, ensuring precise handling from origin to destination.

U.S. & Czech Republic to China | 20,000 kg Units | Time-Critical Air Freight

Project Overview
In December 2007, ACS coordinated a series of urgent air shipments of large wheel motors for mining trucks to help a client meet a critical delivery deadline.

Total shipments: 7
Origin: United States and Czech Republic
Cargo: Wheel motors for mining equipment
Weight per unit: ~20,000 kg

Logistics & Delivery
Following an initial series of ocean shipments, air freight was required to meet the delivery timeline. Each shipment required approximately 100 board feet of lumber to properly distribute weight and ensure safe transport.

Execution
At the time, these shipments were among the heaviest individual pieces of freight transported out of LAX. ACS successfully coordinated all movements to meet the client’s deadline.

In 2006, ACS coordinated the transport of multiple breakbulk and containerized shipments of mining equipment to Guyana in support of a large-scale mining operation.

Due to the destination, many shipments required transshipment through intermediate ports. ACS managed routing and coordination across multiple international origin points to ensure smooth delivery.

Specialized handling solutions, including custom-built cradles for breakbulk shipments, ensured safe transport from factory origin through final delivery.
